It's fake, apparently these types of birds are very scared of humans so would not swoop down with people around.

Hmmm most definitely fake.
1 urban parkland is not typical Golden Eagle teritory ( OK it could have been an escapee)
2 more importantly the kids shoulders would have been ripped to shreds by the talons
3 has anybody dropped a toddler from that height ( I hope not)

Yes if it was real that kid probably would not be sitting on the grass, only being just a little bit upset

Was anyone else expecting to see footage of an obese child that couldn't fit in their allocated seat on a plane?

I thought it might get more interest worded like it was!

In hindsight and the cold light of day, it certainly is an unlikely scenario but an impressive fake nonetheless.

I shall turn my scepticism control up a notch or two in future.

Myth busted: It was a visual effects project.
The “Golden Eagle Snatches Kid” video, uploaded to YouTube on the evening of December 18, was made by Normand Archambault, Loïc Mireault and Félix Marquis-Poulin, students at Centre NAD, in the production simulation workshop class of the Bachelors degree in 3D Animation and Digital Design.
The video shows a royal eagle snatching a young kid while he plays under the watch of his dad. The eagle then drops the kid a few feet away. Both the eagle and the kid were created in 3D animation and integrated in to the film afterwards.

good effort though.
