If you would like to be considered for selection for The League of Nations team, then complete your details as shown in the example below. Please be honest about your capabilities-it is better to say that you know nothing about Arts and Books, rather than embarrasing yourself on national TV as a self styled expert on something you have no clue about. I will select the team that will give the broadest range of subjects covered and nations represented. As a niche interest team rather than the standard pub quiz team, we would already stand a good chance of getting an invitation from the producers to appear on the show. This would be further enhanced by selecting team members who do not fit the quizzer stereotype of all being elderly white British men. It is also a help to have a warm personality and something interesting to say. I recently auditioned and recorded for The Chase-and all the contestants were primarily selected on their personality and smile, rather than their knowledge. The Chase producers loved my genuine story of being presented with an Oscar!
By putting youself forward for selection, you will need to agree to the following:
If selected to the team you will complete the application form honestly and in a timely manner,
You will make yourself available for audition, which you will travel to at your own expense. Obviously as we do not know where all the team members live, then it is hard to say which will be the most suitable city to attend an audition, possibles do include Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. Also be aware that most auditions tend to take place on a week day rather than a weekend, so be prepared to take a day off work, if necessary.
If the team is invited onto the show, then the recording will take place in Glasgow. The BBC will arrange your travel and pay for all expenses including an overnight hotel stay, if necessary. Recording dates for the next series are every day from 25th February to the 9th March inclusive.
In the event of the team winning some money, the winnings will be equally shared between all the people agreeing to take part, including any team members who might be selected as reserve contestants.
Anyone appearing on the show will undertake not to divulge the outcome of the show, until it is transmitted.
