According to John WIlkinson the RFL are heading the negotiations with a potential investor.
But... but... DOUBLE STANDARDS! ... DISGRACE!!! ... IT STINKS!!!!!!

Bradford raised 500k in a short space of time from fans, indicating a decent level of backing/affection. I genuinely hope the same sort of thing can happen for Salford but at present, the signs don't seem good in that respect.
Don't start stamping your feet and being offended on behalf of Salford or berating the RFL for your perceived injustice. You've no more idea what they may or may not be doing than anyone else. So put a sock in it!

I do hope there is a buyer in the wings, but I'm resigned to Salford going out of existence on Jan 7th. It'll be a sad day for me, but I'll get over it eventually.

Do you think its *that* serious Tony?
I hope not, but who knows? I certainly think it could be that serious. What I expect to happen is that Salford will survive in some form or other.
I ask myself if I would buy the club (after winning tonight's lottery of course) and I don't know. In its present form, it is not a viable business, so only someone with a great deal of business acumen should even consider it. I hope such a person is out there, but I'm not confident.

I agree with Tony. I just wish they would get it over with, I am sick of it all.
We are stuck in a terrible "no-mans land" - we are insolvent, so can't sell seasons / membership and facing winding up, but still have two thirds of a super league team to pay. We are not strong enough to play a SL season, but can't go to Champ 1 in this format. Folded up and chucked in the bin awaits unless something happens soon.

having the BBC re-locate was said to be a shot in the arm too, what has gone wrong? should they have stayed at the Willows?
If this club is allowed to go under as Wakefield, Bradford and Crusaders before them, isn't it time that fans had a say in the make up of the RFL? Their financial checks which form part of the granting of SL franchises need looking into at the very least.

Why on earth do you say this after all the posts explaining the financial checks are there to find the 14 best clubs, and are NOT there to guarantee the 14 picks are all financially sound.
As all the posts passim explain if you want a financially sound Superleague then it's a matter of a six club Superleague playing each other five times.
