Nothing confirmed yet, but the CEO of one club was spotted at Cash Converters last week.
Now, now! Dave Tarry is no longer CEO of Salford, as you very well know!

- would have been those paintings they keep using as security for loans from council. Trophy cabinet is a bit bare these days!
Why don't we get together and knock up a few paintings for the club to use as collateral? This modern stuff can't be too difficult, can it?

New sponsor to be announced early next month, likely to be a betting company.
And the winner is 13 on the red.

It will be a last minute ###### deal from a betting company in desperation dressed up by the RFL as the best thing since sliced bread.

I don't know what "NW" means. If it's "Not worthy" (ie of a response), you're right and I'm sorry. I was shooting from the hip. I should have resisted the temptation, but we often have this. The rfl have to say nice things about a sponsorship deal, don't they?

I don't envy him his job. Who would you want to sponsor our game? If you rule out those companies peddling questionable wares, what's left?
Cigarette companies - No way!
Booze companies - Not in today's society!
Online gaming companies - Not for me!
Payday loan companies - Surely not!
What's left? Slim pickings. I wish the guy all the luck in the world. I think he'll need it.
A propos of nothing, I have been appalled by the TV advertising I've seen since returning to the UK. It is wall-to-wall dross. Online bingo! How many of these firms are there? Payday loans! One of them advertises an APR of over 4000% (that's four THOUSAND percent!). They make the credit card companies look positively benevolent! Please don't let's tie ourselves up with any of those.

The goverment shouldn't even allow those companies to advertise on television, how some of those celebrities who advertise them can sleep at night is beyond me

The RFL can't play hard ball too much on the back of this, and may risk potential sponsors walking away. The sponsors know the game needs the cash. They won't have been oblivious to the Crusaders, Bradford and Salford stories of the last 12 months.

alternatively, the rfl have shown that they will go with a deal which has no cash if it is not right for them.If its true that Betfair offered £750k p.a and then we had a deal with Stobarts was no cash but with some intangible benefits, then if you were looking as a company to sponsor RL, you wouldn't be looking at any more than £500k p.a?? I wouldn't as there is precedent for comparison. Canetman for all his perceived frustration/negativity may be about right.

Personally I think it shows that the 750k wasnt enough from a betting company.
This may very well work in the RFLs favour if these companies genuinely want in.
