Don't think many players will want to kick the ball dead from their own half on Boxing Day with this new idea.Think the scrum idea could work if it came into law.Will be interesting to see now the players react to the trial.

They didn't. No-one kicked dead from their own half and I don't recall any charge-downs of significance.

In any case the referee seemed to have enough problems coping with the old rules - knock-ons, lying on etc.
Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.

Apart from the charge down which led to the ref wiping the tackle count and Batley scoring 2 plays later!!!

It wasn't a charge down,it was a kick through that was played at with a leg.I was stood directly behind it.
