Just spotted who's heading the table in Lawro's Predictions.

Mancini gone. Crazy sport.

That's pathetic.

For all the talk of excitement about relegation, football is not a good model for RL to follow.

The last episode of Pointless I saw had no questions about football but one about Super League. 100 people had 100 seconds to name as many teams in Super League in 2011: one team said Catalan, one said Harlequins. Can't remember which was lower but the lowest score was Crusaders.

It was repeated tonight. Perhaps the Beeb read this forum?

1. I wish I'd put a tenner down when five years ago I predicted Moyes to replace Fergie on retirement.
2. Sad to see Mancini go but all was not quite as it seems. A whiff of player power in recent performances?
3. I wish league was as popular as soccer.

One Chelsea supporter puts the trophy success all down to the players! Some really are unforgiving.

Oldest fable in the book is that; players win games, coaches lose them.

David Beckham announces his retirement. 19 trophies in 20 years is hardly chopped liver. I like him, he comes across as a decent bloke.

Not exactly a Beckham fan as such but give the guy his due, he's worked hard to achieve anything he has. A good ambassador too, don't expect he'll be down the social tho...

Beckham is an excellent role model for many.he's not as gormless as he sounds and from a very modest background has through dint of hard work and dedication, made something. Need more like him.

Anyway, Mancini can live off his Pink Panther royalties

This is perfect timing, just when sky sports news had milked the Fergie retiring story to death. :good:

He also seemed to cope well with both extremes of fan reactions.

One side from getting extreme fan abuse, including death threats and fans chanting hoping his wife and kid died from AIDS.  Even the Mirror printed a dartboard picture of his face.

The other side of being deified by exactly the same newspapers and journalists who were the abuse cheerleaders.  It was the Jonny Wilkinson treatment but on a far grander scale.

I was just surprised he stayed in Britain for as long as he did.

Jonny Wilkinson got abuse from the media? I must've missed that! :O

I don't have the funds and now have a family visit and so didn't try.  I'll be watching through my fingers on Sky.
