So as not to de-rail the "Paul Sculthorpe MBE" thread, I thought a new discussion about the New Years Honours was in order.

Are there any players, coaches, administrators, club officials, club employees or supporters past or present who you believe should be recognised for their actions?

Personally I think Mark Aston at Sheffield Eagles is worthy of consideration. This would not just be for his playing career but the overall job done in resurrecting the club following the Hudds/Sheff merger and keeping the game alive in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

Any others?

"Rugby League is rugby in the simplest form in the sense that it's about great defence, great tackling technique, good handling, good passing, catching and great kicking."

Sir Steve Prescott has a nice ring to it !

Absolutely. I fail to understand why he was omitted. But then the media and establishment never appreciate Rugby League.
