Buried halfway in that piece
Reds are set to announce the signing of Liam Foran and Vic Mauro from the Manly Sea Eagles club in Australia.

I also think it's good that he gets some ownership of the stadium so that there should be no threat of Sale Sharks taking over and charging the Reds rent, more likely to be the other way around now.

Liam Foran went really well for Manly last year when his brother was out injured. Would be a decent siging if true.

Hardly likely to force Sale out is he? The bloke's in it to make money (whether that's for Salford or himself remains to be seen) so he'll no doubt be looking to ensure that it's generating income all year.

Oh I absolutely agree with you. The point I was making is that he and thereby Salford control or own half the stadium so Sale could not take over and they would remain as tenants contributing to Salford's coffers and not the other way around.

Marwan Koukash recounting how three years ago he met Nigel Wood on a flight - at that time he had no interest in rugby league. They became friends, started talking about racing, Nigel went to racing a few times then Nigel invited him to the Grand Final - he genuinely enjoyed it
12:09

Steve @ SCR:
He rang Nigel a few months later to ask if he could go again. He sat next to Eamonn McManus, owner of the Saints and said afterwards to Nigel to let him know if there was ever an opportunity to buy a club
12:09

Steve @ SCR:
Two or three weeks before Christmas Nigel Wood brought Salford to his attention
12:10

Steve @ SCR:
First expressed an interest between Christmas and New Year
12:10

Steve @ SCR:
Hard negotiations began on the 7th January
12:10

Steve @ SCR:
Became so difficult that he thought it wasn't going to happen
12:11

Steve @ SCR:
Went to a pub after the negotiations close to the stadium one evening, started talking to fans who recognised them and realised how important the club was to the city and the supporters - at that time they made a commitment to go back to negotiations, save the club and turn it into a winning side

Martyn Sadler - asking about the stadium, does he have an option to buy the stadium from the council? and have Peel continued the sponsorship

.

Without them the deal would be impossible and he thanks them. It was unrealistic to reach an agreement on the stadium and development in the short timescale from 7th December
Everyone agrees that the team needs its own home, and the chance to generate revenue from the club
Future discussions will take place, not the right time to try and finalise that deal, most important was to secure the future of the club

Every creditor will be paid and paid 100 pence in the pound - everyone will be paid in full

Imagine that means no points deductions

Seems a bit overambitious...

Wouldn't send a horse into a race unless he thought it could win - the team is going out to win. Finishing second is not an option. At the end of the season if we haven't achieved it we will sit down and see why we failed

Would we be happy with a top eight place? Yes as long as we are top of the eight!

Do they plan to work closely with Sale Sharks?

No.
