Haha, that's true. I didn't want to annoy people. For the record, I have a degree in Human Resources and have been working in that industry for the past 6 years.

I spoke to my brother who lived in York back in 2008, and he reccomended recruitment agencies as the best avenues for work, and the banking/financial sector as a good source of employment. He was also a keen York City Knights and York City FC fan while he was living there :)

If you do come to York, come down and give our amature club York Lokomotive a hand, as we need all we can get as us young ens are now sort of running club.

About thirty years ago, Kirklees Council published a streetmap of its area. On the back cover was an advert for a firm (Brook Motors?) superimposed on a tilted globe so that Huddersfield was right at the centre hub of the world surface.

:D

That's cos it is ;)

I'd move to Australia if I came from Lancashire.

Obviously I'd have to steal a loaf of bread first.

Goldcoaster - there was a book out a few years ago, called "###### Towns", might be worth a quick glance before you decide (I'd take it with a pinch of salt though as it was a semi-pi$$ take)......

http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Crap_Towns

Note Hull's ranking!!

If you're in the business of hiring/firing it's prob worth bearing in mind that most of the UK (bar London) is financially bolloxed so if you're in London you may well be doing some hiring but everywhere else it's likely that you'd be drafted in to do the firing

The place you want to move to has to be Cumbria (west Cumbria), the beautiful lake district on your doorstep, it is also a rugby league hot spot, albeit no super league club but we've managed with out a super league club for 15 years now but the game still thrives, ive also heard that sellafield are employing. What more could you ask for, nuclear waste, natural beauty (as in the lakes) :o  , and rugby league.... :D

Jeeez, just read through this thread in its entirety and it sounds like the dialogue of Blind sodding date.

"Pick me, me, me...."

Don't knock it, you can get four pints and still have change left over from a fiver in Fleetwood.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.
