The birthplace of rugby league, the George Hotel in Huddersfield, has been shut down.
Really is that the one outside the trainstation?
Any idea why it has been closed down?

Yes it is the one outside the train station. Though I have no idea why it has closed, maybe no-one wants to stay in Huddersfield town center when there are Travel Lodges etc. everywhere you look.

It's also the home of Stevo's Rugby League Museum and Hall of Fame which was well worth a visit for anyone interested in the game. Mind you, if the price of the rooms was anything like the price of the drinks in the bar there's no wonder they've closed down! It looks like Stevo will be looking for a new home for his collection then.
