Think you are missing the point PM. The improvements behind the stand were asked for by the fans themselves, The RFL has not insisted on them, nor have the H and S regulators. It is not unreasonable therefore, to ask the fans to contribute. Nobody has been forced to attend the organised dinner function, or chuck money in the bucket - it's voluntary. I would also think that adding a path and a couple of rows of terracing would not add much to the value of the ground if it were sold to a mad russian - he'd replace it anyway, and it would be an added inconvenience if it was earmarked for development. I think maybe you should only start worrying when the club start organising bag packs at sainsbury's (something much loved of teachers organising freebies for them and their charges to junior football tournaments in europe). As for your patio - have you submitted an application for lottery funding ? - you'd be amazed at what they will pay for. ;)

fair point GOR as I think Doc M has also.

I have to ask is there now a path all the way past the score board end? The reason I ask is as I left the posh stand I saw people walking towards me and a Fax fan asked a steward if he and his family could walk that way out (presumably as they were parked in the car park) only for the steward to tell them it was only for people making there way to the starlight lounge (or whatever it is called). I thought from the earlier topics on the Rams forum it was for the fans to move around the ground rather then a one way path to the boozer..... or is this also what the fans wanted

hypocracy

must start using spell check

I don't wish to pay for sewage repairs which are not chargeable to me, so I write and complain and get my MP involved. Not hypocritical at all.
I don't wish to pay for new infrastructure owned by the Electricity supply industry,so I write and complain and get my MP involved. Not hypocritical at all.
I don't want to line the pockets of a club majority shareholder and feel the information should be publicised. If having read the facts and you wish to donate to the cause then feel free to exercise your democratic right, however as a fair minded person, presumably, I hope you will treat all those who refuse to be conned in the same manner.
I only asked if Batley should follow the modern method of extortion, as practiced by your beloved club and others. vitriol is vile.

Are you accusing Mark Sawyer of extortion then?

Are you accusing Mark Sawyer of extortion then?

Certainly not. Just asking if the modern method of improving ones assets is moral. Some people of a certain age were brought up to different standards than are acceptable today. Mr Sawyer is not on is own and many powerful companies are employing this technique. If you feel happy with the situation please avail yourself of the invitation to part with your money. Just out of interest assuming the dinner doesn't raise sufficient funds what will happen to the funds raised. If 100 people attend at £35 that will raise £3,500 against that approximately £800 will have to be deducted as costs. Will the terracing be completed for £2,700?
