After much discussion between Leigh Centurions Coach Paul Rowley and Salford City Reds Coach Phil Vievers, the decision has been taken not to play a friendly fixture this weekend.

The fixture had been pencilled in for this Sunday after the original game, due to be played over the Christmas period was postponed. That game will no longer take place. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Centurions are next in action on Friday 25th January against Swinton Lions, with a 7:30pm kick off.

Yep, a club worth saving. I do feel sorry for the fans though, I wonder if the RFL will compensate Leigh from the Pot for this dent in finances caused by one of its elite being unable to fulfill a fixture.

They have a squad, they are playing the week after, as they did the week before and are still in business. Its a joke, unless they pull out of the other fixtures of course.

Be lucky if the crowd was 1500 for this game anyway. I don't think Salford wanted any more injuries, had a couple of head injuries after Sunday.

couldn't agree more craig. The loss of a friendly is a bog hole in a cc clubs finances, particularly at this stage in the season
