Mancunians are looking for enthusiastic and talented people to join our coaching team for 2013.

We are looking to recruit a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach for the coming season.

Mancunians RL play in the North West Mens League and are the only adult Rugby League club in Manchester. We are seeking a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach for the 2013 season.

As The Head Coach, you will have experience of coaching adults and be qualified at UKCC Rugby League Level 2 and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.

The Assistant Coach must be willing to work towards developing as a coach at adult level and ideally be qualified at level 2, or show willingness to be qualified at this level. P

Joining the coaching team at Mancunians will allow you to develop as a coach. Our progressive outlook means that we are continually looking for new and innovative ways to grow the club and you will be influential in this process.

We have partnerships with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) & The Manchester College (TMC) and we work closely with Manchester City Council which mean that ambitious coaches will have the opportunity to receive support for further professional development including UKCC Rugby League Level 3.

If you think that you are suitable for this role, please contact Vinny Webb on
07834 251915 or email vinny.webb@mancuniansrl.com or send your CV to vinny.webb@mancuniansrl.com

Just as an aside, with no sniping, aren't all teams in the City of Salford admitted to the Manchester & District local league? Should this be changed to the Salford & District League? (or Swinton League)
The Valentine cup is played for by members of the M&D League, is this still the case?

Good luck by by the way.

I'm not sure if your second question is one for the club to answer, sorry. With reference to your first, AFAIAA it's not actually a league, but a BARLA administration.

We'd like to play in the Valentine cup, I'm not sure of what the plans are for it this year though.

No formal teams as yet. Lots of activity in the city and in our locale, but sadly no clear coordination which means that it's been a scattergun approach, but we're optimistic that will change.

The District Leagues exist under the BARLA structures and it was the case that to enter the playing leagues you needed to be admitted into the District League.

The switch to summer rugby disrupts that 'rule' while at the same time, RFL delivery structures did not mirror Distict Leagues -e.g Bury Broncos were M&D members but the development group under the RFL was Bury/Bolton/Rochdale - so we've ended up straddling both.

My personal view is its great for clubs locally to come together, and they will do for their own purpose, irrespective of whether its under a BARLA recognised banner or a development area group or just a group who want to get together.

As for the name...it's been around for a long time! At the point that we joined M&D we were the only non-City of Salford (recognising that that covers places who'd prefer not to be City of Salford!) club. I don't think theres an appetite to change it or any reason to given the clubs know each other.

Yes. It was played for in the summer so the switch has made it awkward given Irlam and Langworthy remained winter while the others went to summer. Not seen any plans for this year and we (Bury) may not take part given we're playing in a Rochdale/Bolton/Bury development area cup.
