"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

I see our friends up the road had a storming 18-0 win over Gateshead in front of a bumper crowd of 382 !
And after such a storming victory this quote made me chuckle!
All in all good display and very optimistic for this season should have enough alround strength to stop up
Surf dudes with attitudes (Kinda groovy) Laid back moods Sky above, sand below (Good vibrations) Feelin' mellow Won't give it up Don't wanna stop Don't wake me up Don't wake me up if I'm dreamin' California dreams Just let me lay here in the sun Until my dream is done

What young goal young goal kickers do yous have?
We have Danny Craven who can kick, but i think he be a regular first teamer.Jack Owens is a good kicker and is not a bad fullback. The best of the Youngsters has to be Tom Gilmore, who was our Number 28 today and is a creative halfback, good kicking game and kicks goals mate.Grant Gore who is injured at the moment is a halfback or hooker and can also kick goals.
