Whoa there. You can't go blaming the chairman! And of course reporters and journalists trawl the forums, twitter etc. They would not be doing their jobs if they did not. Indeed, some organs pay people to do just hat.

I'm not blaming him. I just find the whole thread ironic and was trying to be so. Your last sentence demonstrates the irony quite well in that some people of significant influence pay the piper to do exactly what's reported by "lazy journalists".

the fact that our chairman told me directly that he is annoyed at the inaccurate reporting in the national press, he assured me that there is no danger whatsoever that he is going to pull out of the club, as he has spent a large amount on the club, ground etc (including the full funding for the i-pitch) and is not in the habit of giving money away for nothing in return. we were a little top heavy behind the scenes and like any company we have had to streamline the backroom in order to concentrate on the product on the pitch, which is why some staff have been made redundant as they were considered superfluous to the needs of the club, rest assured that widnes vikings are in super league for the long haul with steve o'connor at the helm.......................

To be honest RL could do with some good old investigative journalists at times the RFL know full well they can pretty much get away with murder nowadays as no-one is going to question them.

God knows the sooner the better i am hearing that they have managed to get a new CC sponsor which no doubt will be dressed up to the hilt so that (In their eyes:) will buy some more time i guess.The pressure is certainly coming from the owners of the SL clubs SOC i guess is just sick of all the bo---cks that comes out although i think he will stay but just try to cut the cloth a bit until there are major changes.CM
