The Sydney Roosters have signed centre Michael Jennings on a four-year deal after he was granted a release from his final three years at the Penrith Panthers on Tuesday.
After weeks of negotiations, Jennings has finally put pen to paper with the Roosters on a deal believed to be worth $2 million for the next four years.
“The Roosters have a talented roster and I'm excited to have joined the team," Jennings said.
"I have met with Trent Robinson and am looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, getting stuck into training, working hard and playing alongside guys like Mitchell Pearce, who I have already played with at Origin level.”

The Panthers released a statement announcing the release.
"The Panthers thank Michael for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for his future," general manager Phil Moss said. "Out of respect for the Roosters and Michael, the Panthers will make no further comment on this matter."

$500k a season is not bad for a hot and cold player who had issues at Penrith.

Big money. The NRL is sailing off into the distance money wise.

I see Craig Fitzgibbon's on the coaching staff there. Always thought he'd take that route after retirement.

Potentially could be the best centre in the world if he got his act together. Got pace the pace and agility to beat any man one and one. Hopefully the move will put his career back on track.

That's nothing compared to what we used to pay Matt King according to many!

If they get the good Michael Jennings that's good value.

Isn't Sam Tomkins on £300k per year? Also you would have though. Sinfield would be on near to £200k.

Its 329,500 Pounds per season for four seasons, nearly as good as Kingy's 325,000 Pounds a year deal at Warrington when allowing for inflation.

Sorry, had a bit of a slack moment yesterday and completely ignored the exchange rate!!

So Jennings would be on around £330,000, with the highest SL player on around £175,000. Players are paid far less than you think, but im not exactly 100% on any third party sponsorship deals and how these may count on the cap or not, but in regards to salaries and cap calculations, no one earns more than that.
