See from his twitter account that at long long last Gareth had his shoulder operation yesterday. Seems to have gone off OK though he's in pain following the surgery. Here's wishing him a very speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing him in a Dogs shirt again as soon as possible.

Yes, lets hope for a speedy recovery. Tom Hemingway is as good a quality second choice as we're going to attract for the scrum-half position and is a reliable deputy, but he lacks the speed of thought and class that Moore brings to the team.

Surely it would be better for players to carry their own insurance, than sit around all the off season with these injuries,if they did Maun and Moore would now be back in action at a time when they are needed.Have they had the ops in the public hospital?
Is the Fax game likely to be played on Sun?From what I read in the papers on my computer, the forecast doesn't look too good.

It all depends upon the insurance premium, Frank. I'd guess that due to the nature of the sport and the relatively high liklihood of injury within a season the costs would be prohibitively high for a part-time player (or club) to cover. Being covered by Huddersfield's medical insurance is therefore a "good thing" for the Batley players. Let's hope nobody needs to use it!
