As a saints fan I'm looking forward to seeing lee Gaskell playing at stand off again alongside johny Lomax and have heard good things about teenage centre mark Percival. Which young players(rookies) are you looking forward to seeing at your club?

I think Hughes could do great things. Not sure he counts as a rookie though. Manfredi and Burke have had good reviews in the friendlies.

Another young ;Leyther at Salford is Jack Holmes, same jnr route as Manfredi.

In the article posted on the Tomkins thread, Wane said he was impressed enough to put Manfredi into the 1st team for this season. Interesting to see where and when he plays.

Would you say that he's a centre or second rower?I think Hughes could do great things. Not sure he counts as a rookie though. Manfredi and Burke have had good reviews in the friendlies.

I think they define a "rookie" as a player who has not played 10 first team games prior to the current season.
Lee Gaskell surely played more than that in 2011. Lomax must be nearing 50 by now.
Hughes at Wigan may well have played more than 10 games.
For me Sam Powell and Logan Tomkins could be Wigan's rookies this year.
Burke maybe going out on loan.

I think Hughes will make the centre spot his own, and move to the second row in the years ahead. Probably doesn't count as a rookie on Father Ted's definition.

The obvious choices to look out for are backrowers like Ben currie at Warrington, stevie ward at Leeds and John Bateman at Bradford. It will be also interesting to see players whose careers havent kicked on due to injuries or lack of first team action like Rhys Evans wing/centre at Warrington, James Donaldson loose forward at Bradford and flying winger Reece lyne of Wakefield who could be another Ryan Atkins moving from reserve team rugby at a top club hull to a less fancied team Wakefield(sorry trinity fans).
