Just wondered if anything had been published regarding the opening ceromony. Any big 'Turns' in the pipeline? I have managed to get 3 non RL lads to make a weekend of it in Cardiff and was hoping to give them a bit of info regarding the Ceremony KO times etc, but have seen nothing as yet.?

If The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles (including the dead ones) and Queen (including Freddie) aren't playing at the opener, it is an utter FARCE and the RFL need chucking out.

I'd like to see if Bernard Cribbins is available to leading the community singing.

I think a bad man may round up Jonathan Davies, Scott Gibbs, Alan Bateman, Billy Boston and some other Welsh cross coders, put them in a big sack and smuggle them oop north. All the while twiddling an evil moustache.

Or McFly.

This is the only mention I've seen:

spectators will also be inspired by a world class dance commission as part of the opening ceremony at the Millennium Stadium.”

Would seem sensible to get Welsh performers to gig at the WC opener. Maybe a well known Welsh band for the young 'uns and Katherine Jenkins for the connoisseurs?

As long as it isn't Max Boyce...

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

RLWC2013@RLWC2013

For those pointing out that we don't have KO times yet, we are all frustrated here too for many reasons. Expect news very soon...

Looking forward to the details.
