Temperatures set to drop all day, even if it passes at 1pm theres no guarantee it will be that way by kick off.

Cant honestly see what either side will gain playing in such conditions, other than a bit of money for Batley and a bit of extra fitness for the players. As a spectacle its nailed on to be error strewn and dire.

Would be far better playing on sunday when the weather looks to be a lot better and theres a bit of a thaw on, although Halifax playing next Thursday will no doubt mean thats not an option.

Must admit, I agree there seems little point in this game. The game is looking likely to go ahead from what I can understand, but confirmation around 1.

5pm now according to Twitter, they are trying to clear all of the snow off the field and not just the lines.Sounds like the pitch is soft so if they can clear the snow it should be a goer - kick off scheduled for 7pm which is unusual but suppose will help get the game played befotre the frost sets in again. Will make for a much better game if the field is snow free, just hope all the surrounding roads and terracing has been well gritted!

Well done to the Btley fans and officials on snow clearing. Maybe a bit pointless to some but for some of the players its the first and last chance of a run out. The weather is not going to improve and so maybe the coaches are also thinking about trying out game plans for next week or so

I for one enjoyed that tonight. We bombed a lot of chances and it could have gone either way but a draw not a bad result

What team did Halifax have out. It seems ours was a bit experimental.

Belting game tonight considering t'was a friendly with some real venom in the tackes, and 1-1 score draw between Rowe and Tonks. We're looking good.

DD - Fax had close to thier first team out (no Morrison, Nanyn - but they don't really count, nor Manning). Fax will be up there but boy, they miss Penkywicz, as anyone would.
