Cant honestly see what either side will gain playing in such conditions, other than a bit of money for Batley and a bit of extra fitness for the players. As a spectacle its nailed on to be error strewn and dire.
Would be far better playing on sunday when the weather looks to be a lot better and theres a bit of a thaw on, although Halifax playing next Thursday will no doubt mean thats not an option.

Temperatures set to drop all day, even if it passes at 1pm theres no guarantee it will be that way by kick off.

Must admit, I agree there seems little point in this game. The game is looking likely to go ahead from what I can understand, but confirmation around 1.

5pm now according to Twitter, they are trying to clear all of the snow off the field and not just the lines.Sounds like the pitch is soft so if they can clear the snow it should be a goer - kick off scheduled for 7pm which is unusual but suppose will help get the game played befotre the frost sets in again. Will make for a much better game if the field is snow free, just hope all the surrounding roads and terracing has been well gritted!Must admit, I agree there seems little point in this game.
