The football skills of Castleford Tigers’ first team squad were put to the ultimate test this week when they travelled to state of the art facility Finch Farm, training home to Premier League football club Everton FC.

Tigers Head Coach, Ian Millward was keen to freshen up the side’s training programme following the two friendly fixtures and ahead of the first clash against Warrington Wolves on Sunday 3rd February. With the bulk of the squad under 21 years of age, he was delighted to be able to offer them an opportunity to experience an alternative training experience in first-class facilities.

The players were put through their paces by members of the Everton FC coaching team including David Weir and Alan Stubbs and were treated as premier league players with their football skills tested in a series of drills before a full fitness session. With privileged access to the club’s facilities, the squad also made use of the on-site swimming pool as part of their rehab session.

The Super league squad adapted well to the change in training with Everton’s coaching team full of praise for the attitude of the entire squad and the way they responded to the intensity of the fitness session.

Millward said, “All staff at Everton FC couldn’t have been more obliging. They have outstanding facilities at Finch Farm and it was a real privilege for the guys to be able to experience that.

“It was a different challenge for them but they really enjoyed the day and were buzzing from start to finish.”

Wow
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.
