The following clubs seem to no longer run a reserve team (summer or winter):

Featherstone Lions
Ovenden
Castleford Lock Lane
East Hull

Anyone know what is the ruling here? I think Ovenden might be looking to enter their A team in the Pennine League next season but at least for the others thought an A team was required?

Why don't you ask the scoreboard man at Coventry, he might make a guess?

What's your problem seriously?

Surely the point of asking a very valid question is because you don't know the answer

You're really proving to be a sanctimonious little man Bowes - and you should understand that people are getting fed up of you. It won't go down well for your first season, believe me!

This is an ongoing issue going back a while with Cutsyke Raider not just this thread. Put me on ignore and get on with it.

Cutsyke Raider has nothing to do with my repost! Get a life for God's sake. Stop worrying about other clubs - you'll soon have enough worries of your own!

In all fairness its quite a good point, if this element of the criteria has been relaxed maybe other applicants may have applied to join the NCL?

Lets face it a number of clubs have struggled to field a second team week in week out for a while. Summer rugby hasn't helped that has it ??
Therefore should criteria not be reviewed as the game changes, To me as long as you are running a team at youth level 18s for instance that could maybe compensate for the second team. Every club would want ideally want a second team on the park each week - if you ain't got the players you ain't got the players !

Time for an overview.

The criteria are there above all to ensure a quality first team.

Hence the need for reserves and high end juniors. All clubs know this and seek to achieve for that purpose - it's not rocket science - a large playing pool is essential at our levels....

So look at newcomers like Woolston Rovers for instance . They are accepted but they do not run above U 15 at present . However they probably have 3 starting Open Age sides and promise to move their youngsters through all the way , NCL find that to be an acceptable sort of approach and accept also that that sort of club are in it for the long haul.......

And so are the rest of our clubs. If anyone of them have criteria issues they tend to be invited to and do talk to the Management about them and it usually gets resolved...|confidentially and off the park.....

A second team in Midlands Prem, an 18s which will play a small season as we are trying to solidify that age in the region, a 16s, a 14s, a 13s and an 11s.... plus a Women's team. Also in the city are Cov Dragons (two teams), Cov Warriors (one team) and just down the road in Warwickshire are Leamington Royals (one team). Finally, Cov Uni and Warwick Uni field two teams each in BUCS.

This will not happen, Holderness are more than happy turning out teams from cubs to open age(few age groups struggling)18s playing again in the Heinz Big Soup conference youth league , also playing Yorkshire combination 18s winter , if east could offer something different maybe they might be some mileage in your story but they cant.

Lets face it a lot of clubs had to use their youth players last season to fulfil 1st team fixtures never mind `A` team fixtures, most of us know that running a amateur rugby league team changes from season to season and the struggling clubs last season could well turn out to be the club with a abundance of players this coming season.

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.
