There are loads of difficulties of organising anything, but if the will and finances were there, how could you make their best 3 v our best 3 work and not simply be two meaningless curtain raisers before the big event?
Could it really be marketed as SL v NRL? Each club would obviously glory in beating their specific opponents, but would people buy into it, if for example, the winners of the 3rd placed match earned a point for their comp, the winners of the 2nd placed 2 points and the winner of the two champs 3 points.
You might end up with lots of ties, no problem there, but the overall winners would never be decided until the final game.
Would people (fans, sponsors, media etc) not associated with the teams directly involved, be more likely to buy into the concept?

Like it, would the 2 weekends be held in say the northern hemisphere 1 year and the southern hemisphere the year after?if it's to be expanded it should be between the 4 teams that contested the grand finals.....

Either that or each champion gets home advantage for semi final and the final alternates each year (or neutral, but not overly keen on that)Like it, would the 2 weekends be held in say the northern hemisphere 1 year and the southern hemisphere the year after?

Yeah I think there would be some grumbling about the travel involved and worries about if 2 Aussie teams make the final in England or 2 English teams(wishful thinking) make the final down under and it affecting the crowd.Either that or each champion gets home advantage for semi final and the final alternates each year (or neutral, but not overly keen on that)

Is the idea of two weekends, and the potential of an all NRL or all SL final, not a step too far from where we currently are with the WCC?

thats cos they can't be arsed selling it
What do they sell it as?
The best v the best?
Its only the strength of the interstate rivalry that keeps the SOO series alive.
That is the best v the best the game has to offer.
The reason the WCC is held when it is and where it is tells a tale.
Held in Oz mid May and it would be........ not good
