Was told yesterday that the RL have sacked all the club timekeepers in Super League-- they are being replaced by ex referees who will be paid £100 per game--- bit rough on the likes of Steve at Hull, Billy at Leeds and others who have been doing it for 25/30 years for NOTHING.

So the answer is to throw money at an already massively in debt super league then. Typical RFL response

What a waste of money, pay some one £100 or some one who will do it for nothing...mmmm makes real sence to pay some one £100 doesn't it....not

Once again the people who run the game are total clueless

Is that comfirmed thought it was clubs who decide who the timekeepers wouldn't they have to agree to changes?

not a great deal tbh, i thought it was a full half hour program, turned out to be about a 10 min slot, went around a few grounds and had a chat with neil hudgnall and gary hetherington.

Totally agree. I was once asked to time keep in an open age cup game at Crown Flat when I was coming back from injury and I was thrilled to do it for nothing, and as an ex ref myself I find it appalling that some of my ex colleagues would willingly hold their hand out. If they must pay them then expenses at best would be ample.
