Woolston withdrew from both games so Thatto Heath's NCL team played the NWML team in a full contact hit out with an appointed ref. Was working again so I didn't see the game, I believe it finished 40-odd 10 after a reasonably tight 1st half.

Yesterday's game for thatto NCL team vs NWML was probably the most intense game of the pre season fixtures as there is people fighting for there place in NCL side and lads trying to show they could be apart of the NCL team so a real good hit out plus the mate vs mate added a little spice to it so it was a very worth while exercise and a lot of positives to be taken away by the club

The Wooston Rovers website suggests called off because of waterlogged fields at Monks Sports Club , their home ground.

I can believe that, so I wouldn't read too much into other allegations. All pitches at Crosfields (also in Warrington) were cancelled too.The Wooston Rovers website suggests called off because of waterlogged fields at Monks Sports Club , their home ground.

It only takes one man's 'I think' to start a scurrilous rumour and attract the detractors.

Pitch was half under water apparently. Wouldn't worry about their numbers, regularly 40+ training according to a friend

Must be, might not have 40 quality players in that though

The Woolston pitches WERE waterlogged and that WAS the reason for the games being called off BUT don't let the truth get in the way of a good story.
There was a misunderstanding around switching the games which we DID apologise for to the PROPER people.

Featherstone Lions 30-16 Shaw Cross Sharks.
Lions look a completely different team to last year. Well organised and worked the ruck very well. We (Shaw Cross) played five lads from our Under 18's, who all went well.
Can't wait for next weekend now!!
