BetVictor have opened a book on the Championship 1, they'll probably be followed in short order by the rest.


They have it as a two horse race with Hornets and Oldham almost joint favourites.

Hornets 13/8 (2.62)

North Wales 7/1 (8.0)
South Wales 8/1 (9.0)
Gateshead 66/1 ( 67)

Book over round by a massive 17.2%

I dont think those odds are too bad for either oldham or Hornets too be honest.

With the book being 17% over round it's bound to get a little more competitive as the season starts between the bookies but that'll probably mean that the favourites will shorten rather than the outsiders lengthen.

A £1000 bet placed with stakes of £511 on Oldham and £489 on Hornets would see a profit of £280, assuming no other team won the league in which case you'd lose a £1000.

I'm tempted.

They've recruited well this year, several ex SL players and quite a few from various academies in Lancashire who didn't quiet make it, but very useful players none the less.

I'd say they were a little too long myself, but not by much.


A £1000 bet with stakes of £441 on Oldham, £421 on Hornets and £138 on North Wales would net you a profit of Approx £100. Might be a more sensible bet actually given that i think the top three's odds are a little long.

Long... I thought they would be in with us and the BIFFS, i would have thought 3's at worst..

If that's the case I'd get my money on swift.

Once William Hill, Ladbrokes et al doe their analysis and if they agree with you they'll be placing bets with them themselves and the price will shorten rapidly. Good luck.

Seems that after the weekend results and Oldhams heavy defeat to the Cru they have slipped in the betting and North Wales are firmly in the running (at least betting wise)
