Well we've had two opening SL games, both of which were high score margins. This is not good for RL.

We'll probably see close score margins in the Six Nations to make matters worse. People will forgive the fact that the games will be boring.

Is it time to start looking at ways of making scores closer e.g. by reducing to 10m rule? Even if it is at the cost of a more open game...

Maybe bringing back P&R would do the trick. ;-)

I think we'd better call the season off now.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Anyone who ever thought the Wigan and Salford game would produce anything other than a big margin given the off season Salford have had must be short of a brain. It was a given that Wigan would get a boost to their points difference. Hull were a let down though but maybe not all that unexpected given that they were largely a 60 minute team last season as well. However, two games does not a season make.

Chuff me. Having your star man ruled out 20mins before the big kick-off can't have helped.

When we start the season and the first couple of matches are tight, it's all even up. When they're not, its a disaster.

Calm Down and Carry On.

Premier League Football had two games in their first round this season which were :-

Fulham 5 Norwich 0
QPR 0 Swansea 5

I don't remember people screaming in the streets that the Premier League is doomed.

The Wigan score was inevitable, Leeds score not so much of a blow out. You just wait until Sunday and Broncos 60 point win over Widnes.

It's a complete farce. I blame the RFL.

Totally agree. Nigel Wood hasn;t been spending enough time on defensive drills at Salford.

Rugby League is about running rugby and tries if you want to watch a borefest watch Union where the same scrum can be in the same corner for a fifth of the game.

Get a grip. Leeds Hull was 6 points in it for 3 quarters of the game. It was an entertaining game better than any football game I've been forced to watch in the last few months.

I thought I'd enjoy the day you posted something which wasn't about p and r lobby, but guess I was wrong.

With all SL clubs supposedly on a level pegging we should be seeing games becoming closer with very few large margins. In fact it is going the other way. This needs addressing. I'm a big fan of close games even if they are low scoring.

But RL should also be about closely fought contests otherwise it also becomes a borefest

The nature of our game will always see blow outs if one team finds a weak link in their opposition and I'd sooner see a borefest of tries than re-formed scrums that will end with a penalty.
