"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Mmm , got to say I'm a tad surprised one of those offered by Widnes isn't on that bench ... May need all the help today given the shenanigans. It's all very bizarre down there it seems !

Surprised you not play Kavanagh or Davies even as a reserve.Kavanagh is versatile and can play Secondrow and loosfwd too.

as i said earlier i would much rather see 17 town lads playing and getting the chance to prove there worth before we turn to the widnes squad. were short on outside backs so we borrow one, exactly how the link up should be used

We are playing great by the sound of it. Morris and Callum Phillips apparently having good games. The Morris/Stack partnership are very strong in defence. Lupton's try was from a great piece of skill from him, Walshy described it as a SL try.

We're doing fine, a couple of daft penalties gifting possession in our own half, swinton probably have the edge in creativity but that was class by luppy there.

We needed a winger and the lads stepped up to the plate. I see Widnes are winning at London 18 - 0 at H/T

Callum's gone off with an ankle injury. Hope it's not too serious. Lupton was limping as well.
