Superb performance, best ive seen us for many a year, dominated from start to finish, so many positives from today. Lets not forget we lost Grimmer for 40 mins and Helliwell, if we had kept them on we could have had a hatful, defence was superb, hard to pick out players when 1-17 were terrific, Kainy was excellent at fullback, Welham and Keinhorst are going to terrorise defences out wide, Keinhorst looks a class above this level, his feet are superb, Grimmer was class when he was on, controlling things, Marchy got the MOM upstairs, thought he was terrific, the pack had a great game, with Yates and Oakes standing out, Haighy played well, and Hood is going to give us such and edge in this division, only downside was the missed conversions, but Marchy kicked 3 from 3 so lets hope he takes the duties! Barrow looked good at times, broke our line on a couple of occasions but on the whole our defence was superb! Absolutely buzzing from the win and the performance, we haven't had a win like this for a long time so lets enjoy it! SO WE SHALL AGAIN

Welham is potentially a far better player then his brother kris, only difference is Liam has only been coached on a part time basis were as kris has been on full time. Liam has more about him more aggression & a better rugby brain. Hope he has a good season for you guys then I'd like to see a superleague club give him a shot on full time basis he would relish it and also would certainly excel!! Great performance today. The lads played with so much confidence and were happy to throw the ball about and try things, something that was missing last season. The defence was awesome.
I can't wait for the next match. Buzzing.

Enjoyed that this afternoon. Not perfect - there were a few too many daft errors for that - but we had far too much for a rather under-equipped looking Barrow side.
Everyone made a worthwhile contribution but a special mention for all six who played in the front row - which is one area where I have concerns - who totally dominated their counterparts and set the platform for this win.
Didn't take long for the half-back injury hoodoo to reappear; both six and seven had gone off the field after 45 minutes! The fact that Grimmer was able to come back on towards the end hopefully means his was nothing too serious but the look of Helliwell as he was helped from the pitch suggests we might have somebody else in the no7 shirt next week.
Tough one at Leigh next week, but it's not within the realms of fantasy that we could pick something up over there on this form ... but we'll have to cut out those silly mistakes.
Well done to all concerned on getting the season of to a flying start

Would be a massive blow to lose Grimmer after only one game, fingers crossed!!

Grimmer scored 2 good tries-- the second one on only one leg.
