Those that saw Frank Stirrup play watched perhaps the best uncapped English rugby player.
He could play anywhere on the field from 1 to 13 possibly with the exeption of prop, ( though he might have played there as well)
He was on a par with Murphy and Pitchford as a scrum half in regard to his rugby brain.
Thanks for the memories Frank.

To those of us of a certain age, the unfortunate passing of one of that illustrious team of the 1950's brings back wonderful memories of Saturday afternoons at Watersheddings........a ground no opposing team liked to visit and have to play one of the best sides going around then or at any other time.
We can't live in the past but Frank Stirrup's passing does give us a moment to remember those glory years and the players like Frank and his team mates we had the privilege to see.
RIP Frank
