Castleford Tigers can confirm they have entered in to a dual registration partnership with Championship side Keighley Cougars for the 2013 season.
The agreement between the two sides will give invaluable playing opportunities to fringe players, offer a potential channel for upcoming Cougars players to feed in to all levels at the Tigers as well as provide a platform to make the most of joint commercial or community initiatives that would benefit both parties.
Jake Emmitt and Charlie Martin are the first Tigers players to join the Cougars and were in action straight away, giving strong performances against Whitehaven on Sunday.
Steve Gill, Tigers’ Head of Youth Development said, “The partnership enables us to give valuable game time to some of our upcoming talents in a good competition whilst also allowing us to support the Cougars aims to be a more competitive force in the Championship.
“It also gives us another pathway for emerging young talent to feed in to the Tigers. We look forward to working closely with Keighley Cougars over the coming season.”
Subject to the agreement of both parties, up to five Tigers players, except those on a Visa, can play for the Cougars. They can, nevertheless, be called back to play for Castleford Tigers at any point.

I was surprised to see Jake Emitt's name. I thought he was one of Cas' better forwards.

Jake Emitt.
In 2011, Castleford's 'Best Forward of the Year.'
He was the "top tackler" for the club last season.
Not quite ready for Super League so getting experience at Keighley!
