Piggy
A tadge arrogant me thinks,
Tbh you do not look like any world beaters, we were just shocking and no physical match, you play basic solid rugby and clearly do take some advantage on that pitch, cannot see you challenging Fev, Sheffield, Leigh or Fax though.
I dont think we are world beaters, but I could say the same about Fev (albeit in horrific conditions), Leigh, Halifax and Sheffield based on the games i've seen this season, but it's far too early to really judge. If we keep our key players fit though I'm pretty confident we'll finish at least 5th, and could perhaps challenge for 3/4th, which given the comparable budgets of the 4 aforementioned sides would be great achievement.
If comments come across as arrogant I dont think it's the intention. Our fans are just enjoying the fact we've gone from perenial relegation contenders to an established Top 4/5 side in the space of 3/4 years, thanks to great leadership from the Chairman and Board, two respected Coaches and the recruitment of some very good players at this level on a relatively small budget. However, most Batley fans know all about struggling and watching very poor sides week in and week out.
Our first choice 17 can match and beat any team in this division on it's day. Doing it is an entirely different proposition though, as we found out (yet again) at Sheffield last week when we had more than enough possession to win the game, but dreadful ball retention cost us.
I'm confident we'll have a good year though, and hope York do too as your fans are clearly very passionate.

Have to say some York fans seemed to use the Swinton win as a yardstick and were going to show us some flowing attacking rugby!
Id say your fans got a huge reality check today, thats not being arrogant, thats just how today panned out.
Weve one 1 major trophy since 1926 - we may be many things at Batley, but arrogant isnt one of them!

we had it yesterday at hunslet..they could see
ever error we made in play while sat over a 100 yards from the pitch...one heard screaming "hes a inch short" how anybody can work out a inch difference for 100 yards away is bordering on super powers...
just dismiss yorks rants in the same way we dismiss hunslets....crazy fools

Is there any reason why we can't have a similar film clip every week on the Bulldogs site??
It would certainly be appreciated by those of us who can't make it up to Batley every week.
The keighley site showed clips from the Bulldogs game earlier in the season.

We used to do this - beginning of last season. Not sure why we're not doing it anymore but I'll ask around at the club. That's a nice little highlights package on the York site.

Like the way you guys stick together and to be honest talk a lot of sense, check my post on arrogance -aimed squarely at Piggys comment, not on any others. I also agree about DR, dislike the whole thing, not good for us smaller clubs as very short term and limits chances for younger players and of course you get used to an certain quality and then at a whim the parent club looks after themselves and takes the player back.
Think we did see a great display against Swinton, however never expected to beat you, however I did expect a bonus point, soon as we conceded first try writing was on the wall, you have a big side and we don't and that will be our problem again, think we should be ok in the backs but look atvRowe and Hirst two man-mountains.
Good luck lads
