Excellent read this. I especially liked:

'I know that's a huge generalisation but it applies a lot to blokes from Yorkshire. They're very forthright and opinionated – quite often without any foundation or substance.'

Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Enjoyed that. Really nice seeing some of the coverage the game is getting at the moment with features like this.

Excellent read, even from his time at Bradford he was such an interesting chap. Does anyone know if it made it into print? Barring a couple of f-words it should have been. Nice to see a "new" writer as well, someone who has covered a widespread of sports it seems.

Good find.

"I'm also mad on Al Green. He's a big tooler. You've only got to listen to his songs. They're all shagging songs." :D
"Journalists are meant to be neutral, for God's sake." - Stephen 'Wiggy' Jones

"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

That's one of the best RL interviews I've ever seen in the mainstream press.

Couldn't agree more.

Comes across as a tough, honest and fair bloke who'll put in as much as he demands - exactly as I have been told he is by a player he coached
