....NRC Final at The Shay on Saturday 20th and we're then away at Workington on the Sunday....2 away matches in 2 days!!!Is anyone else baffled by theRFLs decision to move the final from Blackpool to Halifax? Surely part of te attraction for us fans was a day/weekend away at the seaside as well as competing in a cup final. Also with Halifax being amongst the favourites for the competition it's not inconceivable that they could have home advantage in the final.

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.
