First half was a shambolic performance by a bunch of rugby players claiming to be pro's. Basic defending not Being carried out, something that you expect at junior level at the very least. We have the fastest player in RL but do not utilise him playing downhill but sat taking up a spot on the bench.

2nd half was a different story but then again the game was over, but it's good to finish on high & hopefully carry on the momentum to the next game. In which I expect Kain to be back at full back. It's the last line of defence & mistakes can not be afforded.

Watson saved 3/4 tries and supported really well in attack, granted did cost us one when he lost the ball in contact but think he was badly done to and should have had a penalty for a ball steal. Either way can't see him being dropped when kainy didn't stand out in the games he's played this year.

Granted he made a couple of cover tackles, but you would expect that of the full back. He knocked on 3 times today, i would back kain over watson to stop the attacker with him & the try line between them. Kain has played 2 matches with the 2nd going off injured in the first half

kain wouldn't have been quick enough to make the cover tackles that watson made today

Mistakes will be more costly when games are closer.

Who were the two players?

Have a look through yesterday's team line-up, and then bear in mind that Welham and Haigh were declared unfit on Friday, you'll soon come up with the players in question ;)

However, the absence of certain players yesterday has actually helped me to form some decisions as to what our best 17 is, which I'll post later in the week as we look towards the Donny game. We need to get it right here, as we need three points from this one ...

I don't know if it's the coaches decisions regarding the line up in defence, but our right wing pair let them through time and time again. Nathaniel is inexperienced but he was pointing to the loose forward or somebody else that he was going to take him. Surely, he should be marking HIS man and if they break through in the middle, that's not his fault. Lining up with our two outside players in the middle of the field, and then running inwards is suicidal. Fev spotted this straight away and scored about 6 tries through this. If you line up in midfield, you should be running outwards in defence. Our back three did no covering across either, Houston is a prop and therefore not mobile enough, Haughey wasn't in the game at all and March can't be expected to cover everywhere at his age. When Poole Gunney and Shaw were our back three, all of them were everywhere on the field in attack and defence. Thought Hood did well, he started playing near the end and Chisholm has fantastic pace, we'll have to learn how to use it.

... and one point from the relegation places !!

Good point though Frisky, there's a strong argument that we've got the hardest two fixtures of the season out of the way already.

Cup half full and all that. I'm confident we will be worrying more about getting into the top 8 than relegation.
