Good call Steve, we had some good players in that team, Jonny Crossley Les Sheard, Kevin Harkin, Paul MacDermot just to mention a few.

Most of the players that spring to mind have been mentioned, especially Graham " worth the admission money alone " Steadman.

How about Danny Sheehan, a good servant to York R.L. who played and coached through some topsy turvy times?

If it had been up to me, Norris the Knight would have been named "Sir Albert"

What a character,Albert was.I remember years ago on one of the YORK signs on the approach into the city, someone had written underneath CAN YOU MOOOVE.
He used to come in our local pub and the lads always got him legless then wound him up and let him go.
He was also a Hull K.R. fan, another of his shouts was Roger the dodger (Millward).

Albert once stood at the bottom of the stairs to get onto the Bar Walls near Walmgate Bar and charged the Yanks to get on them.

Another player no one has mentioned is Steve Quinn, a great goal kicking centre.

What about Trev Hooper for the sheer size of the man or the legend that was Ian Tansley.

Peter Foster thw winger who scored 167 tries for York and Willie Hargreaves a fullback who made well over 300 games and would tackle any player no matter how big.
