When is the Olympic legacy going to kick in, successive cuts have started to reduce our country's sports stadia.

My first thought was why, when the management of Don Valley Stadium declare an annual running cost of £700,000, havent they secured a naming rights sponsor to recuce this?

Everyone was supposed to benefit from the Olympics this appears not to be the case

I guess the idea was that local authorities would use the crest of the olympic wave to encourage sport rather than viewing it as an easy cut when trying to reign in chronic budget overspending

Billions have been spent. The Don Valley has been a grotesque symbol of underused overspend for years. It didn't seem to have any friends at all until some people realised they might make some symbolic capital out of its closure.
