What would be your ideal 13 in the modern game? A ball handler, someone who can make the hard yards, or someone who can run out wide with the centres?

Simple answer is Kevin Sinfield...................the complete player and 13.

Depends on the style of play
In Sinfields case Leeds is built around him and his style
Certainly a dynamic runner who can pass reasonably well and has a kicking dimension

On 13/2/2013, Hull City's owners the Allams, released a statement in their position as the owners of the KC Stadium Management Committee. One line in this statement read as follows....
"The SMC's principal responsibility is to remain neutral"

Ball playing forward, end of...... Not many at present, lockers, sinny and westerman...... Wires badly need one for me, but that's another topic.
I'm glad westerman has started the season well, he's a good youngster IMHO

He's no youngster. After six years in the game should be delivering on a regular basis rather than being talked of as a youngster with future potential......

To be fair, if he played for a top club he'd be elevated in stature. 23 is still young and 12 years to continue on playing
Again joes had a few injuries and we've not seen the best of him.

Sinfield has been a stand off for the last two seasons. Loose forwards can be an extra half back or an extra prop depending on what the coach wants I guess. Best loose forwards I saw at oldham were Bob Lidner and Mike kuiti who were very different players. Lidner was probably the best player I've seen play for Oldham, seemed unstopable at times.
"surely they've got to try somthing different now, maybe the little chip over the top?2

Happy with Lockers to be honest, strong in defence, runs hard with good lines, offloads and can pick a pass.

Quite. Westerman still has potential.
Perhaps it's a criticism of the general british mentality rather than of Joe personally the way we regard players of his age & experience as 'youngsters'.

Agree, he may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's proved he's got ability, maybe a bigger club would be better for him?

yep - to me, lockers is the LF of the modern game........they used to have a little more flair but in the modern game he is prob as good as it gets
