Salford leading 18-14 at half time! Some controversy over a penalty kick going over or not. It was given anyways!

Salford drop the ball near their own line, oh dear. Wakey fail to score though, good Reds' defence by the sound of it.

Bet Tony's having kittens. :D

Pressure tells on next set, Cockayne over in the corner, 22-22.

Well played Salford, point lost or gained, I wonder Tony. (Never doubted your lot, honest!)

Seems to be more draws this year than i can ever remember. I hope this doesn't start a golden point campaign as i wouldn't like to see that.

"surely they've got to try somthing different now, maybe the little chip over the top?2

According to various pundits on Twitter this game wasn't the best quality but with an exciting ending. However, that Salford conceded only 23 points after all the points they have shipped this season so far must mark a massive improvement in their game. Either this is a post-coach-sacking one-off (and I've seen that happen at Saints in recent times) or letting Vievers go has been the best thing to happen to the Salford team. Time will tell I guess.

i agree. Golden point has created the odd very dramatic finish but in the main it looks awful as the players are knackered and can barely kick the ball

Where oh where has that sort of defence been so far this season? Wakefield had several sets of six on or near our line and we held them out (only just on one occasion, but we did). Standing back for some perspective, that has to be a point won rather than a point lost, but when you're in front and your opponents level it, you always feel that it was the one that got away.

WLYW2, I think you are a bit harsh on your lads. We tackled like our lives (or contracts  ) depended on it and you came so close just before the end, I thought you'd got in at the corner. It was bitterly cold, with an icy wind blowing around, and that probably affected both teams, so "Well done!" to all 34 of them.

OF, no I didn't have kittens. It was far too cold! But I did have a very enjoyable pint of real ale in the Duke of York after the game, and managed to get warm, too :) .

Wakefield lacked authority up front today and consequently conceded easy yards and found it tough to get any momentum. Kirmond and Raleigh both out injured and Amor dropped for disciplinery reasons, Bravo Richard Agar for taking a tough stance.

Tim Smith off early in the game and Wakefield looked a little clyeless without him, neither Wood nor Sykes have shown anything like their 2012 form so losing Smith was a major blow.

Salford came fired up by Alan Hunte who also injected a bit enthusiasm by picking a couple of youngsters, they were basic but efficient and ground out a deserved lead.

Poor show from Trinity who must improve if they're going to get in the eight
