A free ticket..... then a fan for life. I wonder how many of the people taking advantage of the FevforaFiver will end up lifelong fans after attending tomorrow?

At first I thought this game may have taken place during the 74 strike, with the 3 day week on and electricity cuts. But that makes little sense as Rovers had no floodlights anyway before 1984. 3.30 start suggests spring time, maybe a re-sheduled game because of the Cup.
We played a midweek game v Leeds in March 1974 just before the Cup semi-final that year. Could that be it?

I'm sure we played Swinton in a midweek game and I think we drew 8 apiece not sure whether that was in the 60's or 70's.
I remember this match we scored in the last seconds to make a draw we should have lost that one it was before we had floodlights and ended up playing in the dark.

I have a complete list of Rovers games from 1921-22 to 1993-94 on a disc purchased from the Rugby League Collectors' Federation. it is a time consuming job looking for a needle in a haystack but I will have a go tomorrow if nobody finds the answer in the meantime. .I have looked at 1973-74 without success.
You didn't need to buy them. You can get them for free. They are the old RKC lists.
The famous Swinton match referred to was played Friday 3 April 1970, and ended 8-8. Awesome memories some posters have!! On the Sunday we went to Doncaster.

It does say on the front *Due accreditation is given to Irvin Saxton and the Rugby League Record Keepers' Club, from whose booklets these lists have been reproduced".
