Unfortunately I have to report the serious spinal injury of our star player Ryan Glynn - Ryan was injured during our game at Elland in the NCL. I would like to put on record our thanks to Elland ARLFC and to the superb Ambulance service.

Ryan is currently at Sheffield awaiting surgery on his neck and spine our thoughts are with him and his family at this dreadful time. What I am absolutely sure of is that Ryan will fight this injury.

I am also certain that the Rugby League community will support Ryan. We at Shaw Cross will be raising funds to support Ryan and his family. We intend to start collecting RL memorabilia to raffle and auction. Can I ask any club / player who might be able to help to contact me - Benny Richardson on 07803347721.

Thank you

Benny

Been through this with an Injury to one of our own players. I dont think as a team we understood what a Rugby League Family meant until that trumatic day but we got through it and so did our player.

Get Well soon Ryan

Benny also as an after thought be aware of the rest of the teams state of mind. I know from experiance it puts massive doubts into their heads too they may need councelling also, like i said just a thought

Very sad news indeed, just shows what a tough sport we are in and the potential dangers we face each time we throw the boots on. Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Doctor says I could be walking out of here in 2 weeks which is great news and a lot of hard work. Unfortunately no contact sports for me

Done a lot of training and played in some big rugby games in my life but doesn't come close to learning how to walk again #hardgraft #tough
