I don't know if this little story will give the lad a boost but today Moorends have a 54 year old turning out for them who broke his neck in 1985 against West Hull, this accident happened the day before he was due to sign for Sheffield Eagles.

The guy refused a stretcher and walked off the pitch before going to Goole hospital where he was quickly transferred to Pontefract General, he spent 8 months on traction and a further 4 months with a cage around his head, 6 months after the cage was removed he played his first game as a centre for Moorends, at half time he said he was bored and played the second half at open side prop, he went on to play for Sheffield Eagle & Doncaster Dragons before moving back to Moorends.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.
