PhillH
An interesting development is reported on by David Burke in today's League Express: Chris Irwin, RL Development Manager Phil Fitton and "3 businessmen" have apparently applied to join Championship One in 2015 as Manchester Rangers. The prospective home ground is the new stadium planned for Belle Vue, echoes of Belle Vue Rangers. It appears Manchester City Council are supporting the venture. Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

The prospective home ground is the new stadium planned for Belle Vue, echoes of Belle Vue Rangers. It appears Manchester City Council are supporting the venture. All Manchester council have said is that it will be listed to be heard at the next council meeting. Belle Vue have had a lot of problems in raising the finance as has been reported in the Belle Vue match day programme periodically last season. The benefit Belle Vue have is that the BSPA have confirmed world ranking status to the Stadium confirming that internationals and possibly a Grand Prix meeting will be held there and it will become the national school of excellence. Fortunately Manchester council are sending out the correct overtures in wanting Belle Vue to remain in the same area they have been since they formed at the dog track in 1928.
