Still, meant they didn't have space for the story about how a newspaper called the Sun is having to pay significant damages for accessing personal information from an MP's stolen mobile phone.

The Sun of today would've exposed anything and everything during WWII.

Since Roy's 100mph flatulence inducing lift to Leigh no doubt.

(Although the smells seemed only ever to emanate from the driver's seat.)

Yeh, true. Still, for those lurking who don't know what you mean could you elaborate a little?! This is AOB after all, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.

No problem.

For those not in the know, Leigh has the only free gay cinema experience in the North.

(Hope that's explained it ok, hindle mate...)

Somehow, though, I doubt it. It's not over yet, I reckon.

Quite. The Independent has said they'd sign up to the current suggested arrangement, but the major players (and most constant offenders) are saying no.

It is a delicate problem, because when it comes to who controls what goes in a newspaper, politicians are an only slightly better choice than megalomaniac tax-exiles and their sleazy lackeys.

"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

Journalists and editors seem to think they are held in higher regard than politicians and bankers. But they are not. And rather like politicians and bankers they seem to want to be able to set their own laws and then decide whether to follow them.

Never mind the Sun digging up Churchill, can't someone bury the Sun. Permanently.
