PREVIEW
Leigh Centurions v Barrow Raiders (7.30pm Premier Sports)
Greg McNally is set to replace John O’Donnell as Leigh’s only change ahead of their televised match against Barrow Raiders which Centurions coach Paul Rowley is challenging his side to ‘dictate’.
Rowley said: “The best word to describe Barrow is ‘capable’. It’s about them putting it together for a full 80 minutes, and the challenge for us is not to allow that.
“We’re at home and we intend to dictate how the game goes, but we’re very respectful and aware of the dangers they pose. There are no easy beats in the Kingstone Press Championship.”
Tom Spencer is also available for the Centurions, although it is believed Rowley is likely to stick with the same players that won at Dewsbury Rams last week.
Rowley said: “There were a lot of penalties in the game, but that shouldn’t take away from how good we were defensively.
“We’re very capable and proud of our defensive record, and we want to continue to be more ruthless as the year goes on.”
Sean Casey looks likely to feature for Barrow Raiders, despite suffering a knock to his ankle in last week’s 30-20 defeat against Whitehaven.

Gregg's new baby Harry will have his first outing, and I fully expect a rocking the baby celebration when he scores
Will be at home in Huds listening to Leigh Life radio coverage, watching the telly and no doubt tweeting

I think the Thursday night game could be a bit one-sided, an opinion based purely upon the season's results so far, which would be a shame. But hopefully Barrow will have enough confidence and cohesion to put up a good fight. I admire them for continuing onward without a Superleague partner. That is a tough approach given that they are newly promoted.

Touch judge on the nearside clearly not a Barrow fan, two extremely suspect calls

Leigh were 1/200 before kick-off. Barrow were 20/1, nearly regretted not putting £5 on barra'

Don't how the touch judge can't see NFL passes from Leigh yet calls Barrow on a pass which was debatable. Don't think it affected the result to much though. Happy with a bonus point though. Can't see Leigh competing with Fev Fax and Sheff either.
The fact we've got such a young side is very promising though, especially the forwards.
Brad Brennan - 20
Andrew Dawson - 24
Kurt Haggerty - 24
Danny Jones - 20
Jack Spencer - 22
Dan Toal - 23
I also feel if Harrison was playing like this four or five years ago he'd of been picked up by an SL club by now.
Wish Barrow could put 80 minutes together though, we've been on top of Leigh Batley and Dewsbury for 20 minute spells this season. We've definitely got enough to stay up. Just need to put in decent performances against the sides around us

Based purely on watching them play in two matches, it is Barrow's defence which appears to be the main problem. They had very good ball control and also did some nice stuff in attack, especially before the number 6 went off injured (which was a real shame as he looked a pest!). But the number of times certain players had a snooze in defence was a real let down and gave the game back to Leigh in the early part of the second half. Mind you, having so many out injured won't be helping the cause, especially losing two during the match and because of that they did a good job overall and deserved the bonus point.Wish Barrow could put 80 minutes together though, we've been on top of Leigh Batley and Dewsbury for 20 minute spells this season. We've definitely got enough to stay up. Just need to put in decent performances against the sides around us
