The Knights travel to Doncaster this Sunday looking to immediately bounce back in the Kingstone Press Championship, and as an 'apology' to the Knights faithful that traveled to Keighley, the players themselves are footing the bill for the supporters coach. The offer came about after a conversation on twitter between supporter Simon Hall and player Simon Brown, and the Knights star half-back was quick to accept the suggestion.
"We think its a great idea" Brown said: "After last weeks performance the supporters deserve an apology, so the lads will be happy to all chip in the get the fans to Doncaster."
Matty Nicholson agreed, saying: "I have no problem helping get the supporters to Doncaster after last week, they deserve much better and hopefully they will see that at the Keepmoat."
Winger George Elliot was also happy to oblige: "The fans make a massive difference to our performance so hopefully we'll have plenty of them in blue and white cheering us on."
Assistant Coach Mick Ramsden was pleased with the reaction of the team: "Its a great response from the lads. We had a lot of disappointed players in the dressing room last week and rightly so, but we have a great chance to put right a lot of wrongs at Doncaster and it will be great to have as many fans as possible there cheering them on."
The supporters coach will depart from its usual pick-up points:
The Ainsty Pub, Clarence St and Huntington Stadium
on Sunday, times TBC.
