I am a rugby league fan and new dog walker, i thought after last week and reading the forum on topic`s i could combine the two together if any club wishes there pitch inspecting tonight or in morning let me know and i will see if i am in your area. Apparently we are the new breed of fan.

Eccles is on at the moment. No settling snow - although bitterly cold wind! Hopeful we'll get the game played.

Whats the weather doing down in Hull? Its been a bit grim up in Cumbria today, lads at work telling me the Millom/Barrow area has got a lot of snow so I'm guessing Askam's match might be in jeopardy (just guessing from rumours and speculation though lol).

Snow around Egremont and Wath Brow seems to have melted although we are due more tonight... Not in any position to comment on Wath Brows pitch though.

Leeds City Council has cancelled all games on their pitches, so any Leeds teams who play on a council owned pitch will be off.

Askam v Ovenden is off. No the weather is awful, the roads are currently shut in to Askam at the moment I believe. I dont think it would be safe to travel from Yorkshire or Lancashire to Cumbria

As no sign of improvement, and to avoid unnecessary travel costs by cancelling in the morning, further pitch inspection done at 3.30 p.m. today and game is OFF.
