Just read on Twitter that Saints have named Wellens and Wilkin at 6 and 7. :o

Not sure if it's true yet though, But with Brown coaching, you never know.

Confirmed.

Yep. Brown would rather play a slow fullback at 6 than a young 6 at 6. There you go. If Howarth is as slow as some Salford fans are saying he is then we will have a combo in the middle which will be playing in slow-mo: Wilkin, Wello and Howarth. Should be interesting to see by how much we get battered.

I'm sorry has Nathan Brown lost the plot. You let Lee Gaskell go and then put Paul Wellens in at 6 for one of the biggest games of the season. That's absolutely barking.

Wigan win by 18ish. No Roby or Lomax. Wellens and Wilkin will be a shambles in the halves.

12 - 0 Wigan. Smith having a wonder game. Saints halves are rubbish and have no structure.

Hughes fails to take a simple pass which would of sealed the game. Absolute class by Goulding and Charnley there.

Wigan look very sharp, saints got a lot of work if they want to lose to Leeds in the grand final this year

Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

Oh well. 18-0 feels like something of a relief at this stage, I was trying (and failing) to prepare myself for 30+.

This is probably the weakest spine we've fielded since Easter Monday in 2004. The most depressing thing is that the only change likely to take place in the near future is Hohaia playing at 6 instead of Wellens. This halfback situation is just horrible.

The only consolation so far is how well Walmsley has done since coming on. My only (realistic) hopes left for this game are that we don't get nilled and keep them below 40.
