We beat them not getting out of average mode and without our two best impact players and best strike finisher . Say no more .

Between March 1965 and April 1969 Town had 11 consecutive wins. This followed a period where we had 3 wins and 2 draws so we went 16 consecutive games against them without losing.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Between February 2005 (when Town Won 28-8) & the pre-season 2010 Whitehaven won 8 on the trot. We were in different leagues so they were Ike Southward matches & NRC. Since then we beat them in the NRC Feb 2010, & since we've been in the same league (2011), Town have won 8 & 1 draw, (including the 6 on the trot), Whitehaven have won 2 and 1 draw. These include Ike matches, NRC & League matches. Source; marras.co.uk

Can't see 5 in a season being done again, we would have to draw them in the cup.

Please Nero, if the clever directors couldn't add up about 5 years ago do you really expect anyone else to be able to?

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
